Musical Director -- Michelle Albert
Michelle was born with a passion for music and had a strong, clear voice, according to her parents.
She started formal singing lessons just before her eighth birthday , following up with lessons in both theory and piano in subsequent years. Michelle performed and competed in Eisteddfods and competitions all over Sydney until she left to move to Queensland just prior to her 17th. Birthday.
She was accepted into the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in 1978 and studied music/singing fulltime there until 1982. Michelle completed a degree in Music at the now University of Southern Queensland in Toowoomba , majoring in both performance and teaching.
She “cut her teeth” at Choral Conducting by directing junior and senior choirs at her daughter’s school from 1991 through to 1994. Michelle worked with the Celtic Connection , based at the Irish Club in the city, 2004.
Michelle is in her fourth year with the choir and enjoys working with a choir as accomplished as the Brisbane Apollo Male Choir. She is contributing in a positive way to the fine legacy that has been handed on to her.
Michelle accepted the position in March, 2007, following in the footsteps of Henry Howell.Henry had just completed 12 years of fine service as Musical Director.She becomes the fourteenth conductor of the Brisbane Apollo Male Choir inc.
